These pumpkin patches in Dallas are centrally located, within a half hour of downtown Dallas.
1. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
Autumn at the Arboretum is nothing short of magical and should be on everyone’s fall bucket list! It’s not only THE place to celebrate fall in Dallas, but Fodor’s named it one of the best pumpkin festivals in the country.
This year, displays will use over 100,000 pumpkins and gourds grown in Texas to create scenes from classic fairy tales.
Special events are planned September 16th – November 5th, 2023. Check the website to see what speaks to you. Highlights include a craft fair, pumpkin stacking contest, photos with the three little pigs, and a petting zoo. There are even cooking classes and trick or treating on select dates!

2. St. James Episcopal Church
The St. James Episocopal Church pumpkin patch in Lake Highland is centrally located just north of White Rock Lake Park. Every day in October, thousands of pumpkins will be available for purchase and family photos.
This is not a pumpkin patch filled with bells and whistles, but the pumpkin selection is vast and the location is convenient. It is open 1pm – 7pm Monday through Thursday, 10am – 7pm Friday and Saturday, and 11:30am – 7:00pm on Sunday.

3. Hall’s Pumpkin Farm and Corn Maze in Grapevine
Hall’s Pumpkin Farm is 30 minutes northwest of Dallas in Grapevine, Texas. It will be open Wednesdays through Sundays for the month of October including Halloween 2023.
The farm features a 2-acre corn maze, a hayride out to feed the cows and donkeys, and lots of pumpkins grown on the farm for sale. Pop’s kettle corn and hot cider will be available for purchase.
Keep in mind that this pumpkin patch is cash only. Admission fee includes parking and the corn maze.
Grapevine is an adorable, historic town that always goes big for seasonal celebrations. You could easily make a visit to Hall’s Pumpkin Farm as part of a full day or even full weekend adventure. Other local attractions to celebrate fall include “Trick ‘R Treat Trains” at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad and Nash Farm’s “Bewitched by the Barn.”

4. First Christian Church in Arlington
The First Christian Church is west of downtown Dallas in Arlington. This pumpkin patch is open daily starting October 8th to October 31st, 2023.
It’s a smaller patch that serves as a fundraiser for the church’s youth programs, but it stocks thousands of pumpkins for sale and welcomes families to picnic, play yard games, join in on story time, and snap a new family photo.

5. Grace Avenue United Methodist Church in Frisco
The Grace Avenue United Methodist Church in Frisco hosts “Pumpkins on the Prairie” daily in October. The pumpkin patch includes a hayride, a pumpkin themed play area, a bounce house, and face painting (weekends only).
The Crave the Shave dessert truck sells treats on weekday afternoons. Special events at the patch include a craft night and trunk-or-treating at the Fall Festival.
This pumpkin patch does not charge an admission fee, making it a more affordable option for local families. The patch will be open September 30th to October 31st, 2023.

Pumpkin Patches in the Greater Dallas Area
These pumpkin patches are further from central Dallas, but well worth the drive.
6. Blase Family Farm in Rockwall
Blase Family Farm is 35 minutes northeast of downtown Dallas in Rockwall, Texas. The pumpkin patch is open September 23 through October 30, 2023, but you must make a reservation to attend. This helps manage crowds and parking availability.
The pumpkin patch includes lots of cute photo ops, a petting zoo, a hayride, a hay maze for little ones, and a Halloween story along a wooded walking trail. There are also pies, pumpkins, and hay bales for sale.
Admission $10 per person, little ones under two are free. Admission includes a hot dog on the weekends and small pumpkin on the weekdays.

7. Pitchfork Pumpkin Patch in Royce City
The Pitchfork Pumpkin Patch is about 40 minutes east of downtown Dallas near Rockwall, Texas and open every day in October. They do not charge an admission or parking fee, but they do charge for activities.
Activities at the patch include pumpkin smashing ($15), pumpkin carving ($15), and pumpkin painting ($15) as well as a Fun Zone ($15) for kids with inflatables and games. The Fun Zone includes a bounce house, inflatable slides, obstacle course, Tic Tac Toe, and Connect Four. The pumpkin patch also offers an exclusive meet and greet on October 14th with the adorable micro cows.
A large variety of Texas grown pumpkins and gourds are for sale daily. Special pumpkin varieties have fun names like Jarrahdale, Mr. Ugly, One In A Million, and Knucklehead. Snacks are for sale on the weekends only.
If you are especially keen to get great family photos, get your outfits sorted, because this is the place! They are offering mini photo sessions with Chahta Photography at very affordable rates. You can book a session ahead of time, but they are also planning to offer open hours during the pumpkin patch as well.

8. Shadow Creek Pumpkin Farm
Shadow Creek Pumpkin Farm hosts a pumpkin patch about 40 minutes south of Dallas in Midlothian, Texas. This pumpkin patch promotes that it has 25 acres of fall fun shaded by trees, and we all know shade can be a big plus in Texas!
The farm will welcome families to celebrate fall every weekend in October. Admission ($17 per person, $15 for seniors, veterans, and first responders) includes unlimited activities. Purchase your tickets in advance online.
Activities include lots of play equipment for the kids (swings, slides, jumping pillow, etc.), plus a hayride, corn maze, petting zoo, and games. Pumpkin purchases and axe throwing come with an additional fee.
Special food vendors onsite include Daddy Andy’s BBQ, CiCi’s Dough Bites, and Tiverton Bakeshop.

9. Preston Trail Farms in Gunter
Preston Trail Farms is affectionately known to locals as “the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm.” It’s one hour north of downtown Dallas in Gunter, Texas.
Pick a pumpkin off the vine, relax on a hayride around the farm, and grab a one-of-a-kind seasonal treasure in the gift shop.
The farm is open every day from 8am – 8pm from September 16th through November 22nd, but the farm train only operates on the weekends. Concessions are available on the weekend, but the Trails Cafe is open daily.

10. Yesterland Farm in Canton
Ok, so at almost an hour and a half east of downtown Dallas in Canton, Texas, this one’s kind of a haul, but you know we only include it because it’s special! With vintage carnival rides and fireworks displays, Yesterland Farm is a pumpkin patch “gone electric.”
Yesterland’s Fall Festival runs weekends starting September 23rd through the first weekend in November, while Spooktacular Nights takes place on weekends in October only. Spooktacular Nights is when things get a little dark and scary, activities include a jack-o-lantern trail and a creepy corn maze.
The Fall Festival includes a pumpkin patch, rides, corn mazes, pumpkin house (great for pictures), animal town, lots of food, and even fireworks on Friday and Saturday nights in October. There are pig races on Saturdays and Sundays.
Halloween weekend will have a special trick-or-treating scavenger hunt for the kids.
