We love pumpkin patch season so our aim was to put together a guide of the best of the best to help you select the perfect patch for your family. Many of these Houston pumpkin patches have unique offerings so you may want to visit several throughout the Halloween season. Updated for 2025!
Best Pumpkin Patches in Houston Metro
These pumpkin patches in Houston are within a 30-minute drive from the city center.
1. Old MacDonald’s Farm in Humble
Old MacDonald’s Farm is 30 minutes north of Houston in Humble, Texas. This farm has year-round offerings, but the pumpkin patch season will run September 13 – Noveber 9, 2025.
Admission to the pumpkin patch includes a pumpkin to take home plus a train ride, pony ride, and enjoyment of the duck pond, tetherball, sandpit, and playground for as long as your family likes. Children get a free pumpkin with their visit!
In all there are over 40 rides & attractions including a Texas-sized pumpkin patch, 8-acre corn maze, life-sized Pumpkin House, barnyard animals, photo ops, pumpkin painting, new rides (The Barn Swinger, Reckless, Pumpkin Stroll), plus BOOriffic Nights with haunted attractions after dark.
Children get a free pumpkin with their admission.

2. Houston Arboretum
This is your best bet for a centrally located pumpkin patch in Houston. The arboretum will host two fall-themed events for families this year, the ArBOOretum and a make-your-own pumpkin planter event.
The ArBOOretum is a one-day-only event featuring a trick-or-treat nature trail, pumpkin decorating, a pumpkin patch, a Halloween Market, and a petting zoo. This year the event will take place on October 18, 2025.
At the pumpkin planter event, your family (ages 5+) will learn how to plant and take care of three native species inside of a cute (artificial) pumpkin-shaped planter. Decorating supplies to make your planter unique are included.
There is presale available online which will save $5 per person on admission for ArBOOretum.

3. Halter Inc. Pumpkin Patch #20
Halter Inc. Pumpkin Patch #20 is a 30-acre pumpkin patch with plenty of shade on the west side of Houston, close to Pine Forest Country Club. It’s consistently voted one of the best pumpkin patches in Houston.
Pony rides, a visit with the barnyard animals, spooky woods maze, archery, tug of war, duck races, horse shoes, and stick horse rodeo are included with admission. Snacks and pumpkins are available for purchase. The pumpkin patch is open one weekends only- October 18 and 19, 2025.
Admission is $5 and parking is $5.
4. Nature Discovery Center
The Nature Discover Center is centrally located in the Bellaire neighborhood of Houston. Its nature park has trails perfect for a family stroll, a play area, and resident animals.
Their Fall Festival is a one weekend on October. This year it take place October 25th and 26th from 11am – 4pm. It includes a pumpkin patch, festival games, crafts, a petting zoo, and favorite local food trucks.

5. Dewberry Farm in Brookshire
Dewberry Farm is 45 minutes west of downtown Houston. It’s a 100-acre farm that has welcomed families for a taste of the farm life for 20 years.
In addition to their 8-acre corn maze, the owners go all out for the Fall Festival, with many attractions that you typically don’t find at other pumpkin patches including a carousel, Ferris wheel, slide mountain, human foosball, and pig races. Don’t miss a turkey leg or a funnel cake from one of the concession stands.
BOOriffic Nights start September 27 with haunted attractions, glowing lantern trails, and spooky photo ops. This only happens on the weekends.
Many Houston families make a visit to Dewberry farm an annual tradition. If you are close by, they sell a season pass that will get you unlimited visits from late September (beginning of the Fall Festival) through December (including all the Christmas activities).
Dewberry farm is closed Mondays, open for morning field trips by reservation Tuesday through Friday, and open to the public Friday evenings and all-day Saturday and Sunday running September 13th-November 9th, 2025.
Live entertainment is scheduled for Saturday evenings and special Halloween programming takes place the weekend before Halloween.

6. Old Time Christmas Tree Farm’s Pumpkin Patch in Spring
About 40 minutes north of Houston, the Old Time Christmas Tree Farms hosts a pumpkin patch with a variety of inflatables, a petting zoo, tractor train,small corn maze, and a hayride.
Vendors will be onsite selling seasonal hand-made goods and delicious meat from Rosemeyer BBQ as well as a variety of sweet treats. The patch is open on weekends only October 4 -November 2, 2025 and admission is $10 per person.
7632 Spring Cypress Rd, Spring
7. Oil Ranch in Hockley
Oil Ranch is a 50-acre ranch northwest of Houston. In the entire month of October, families can enjoy their pumpkin patch complete with a hayride, train ride, a round of putt-putt golf, a BBQ sandwich from the general store, and a petting zoo. In all there are over 20 attractions to enjoy.
The patch is open to the general public weekends starting October 3 through November 22, 2025.

8. Blessington Farms in Wallis
Blessington Farms welcomes families every weekend mid-September through mid-November to enjoy their pumpkin patch. The season runs September 20 – November 23, 2025. There are special themed weekends such as teacher appreciation and military appreciation.
In addition to the patch there is hay ride, animal encounters, train rides, giant slides, jump pad, fishing, and more fall fun. They also have a two-acre lake that is stocked with fish and they just might be the only pumpkin patch in the US that has camels you can feed!
Admission is $25 for all-day fun. You can buy tickets online in advance.

9. Froberg’s Farm in Alvin
Froberg’s has been a family operated farm just south of Houston for over 70 years. They are best known for their strawberry picking, but their fall festivities from run September 20 to November 9, 2025 and are a big draw for families.
The corn maze and pumpkin patch are open daily, while other activities such as the mining sluice, paintball gallery, jumping pillow, gem mining, and apple blaster are open on weekends only. Don’t miss a visit to Froberg’s Bakery for homemade goodies like pralines, fruit preserves, kettle corn, and 30+ varieties of pies made with locally grown fruit.

10. P-6 Farms
P-6 Farms is an hour north of Houston, but they really pull out all the stops for their Fall Festival so you may find it’s worth the drive!
You can pick your own pumpkin right off the vine while the kids enjoy wheelbarrow racing, the playground, a corn maze, pig races, flower patch, rides, animal barn duck races, and more. Don’t forget to get a great family photo in the life-sized pumpkin house and grab some BBQ at the Clodhopper.
The pumpkin patch runs on the weekends only starting September 27th through November 2nd, 2025. Tickets must be purchased in advance online. Admission is $18.95 during the early sale and $25.95 full price. Kids under 3 are free.
