Ice skate in winter or cool off in the fountains in summer at Discovery Green. This park is a small, green oasis in the heart of downtown Houston. It’s easily accessible after catching a show or a baseball game nearby.

The playground and model boat basin are accessible year round. Kayak and small sailboat rentals are available for most of the year (minus the winter).

Plan ahead and attend one of the special family programs regularly scheduled in the park such as “Skate with Storybook Stars,” family yoga, movies in the park, and young writer’s workshops.
