Canadian Museums

  • Ontario: Don’t miss the exhibits on the Living Earth, a Planetarium, Rocks, and Minerals at the Ontario Science Center in Toronto.
  • Ontario: The massive Royal Ontario Museum houses an excellent dinosaur and fossil exhibit.

US Museums

  • California: Visiting the San Diego Natural History Museum is a must do when enjoying Balboa Park.
  • Delaware: The Delaware Museum of Natural History is an educational and fun place with dinosaurs and a nature nook for hands on fun.
  • Georgia: Walk with the dinosaurs, explore NatureQuest with the kids, and roam the forest at Fernbank Museum of Natural History.
  • New York: Each floor of the American Museum of Natural History offers a new world to explore and it is easy to spend an entire day here. Kids will love the dinosaur, blue whale, and sights they may recognize from the movie, “Night at the Museum.”
  • New York: Best Museums for Children in New York City
  • Oregon: Located on the University of Oregon campus, the Museum of Natural and Cultural History is a great place to get up close to some fossils, learn about historical archeology in Oregon, and get to know the cultural and geologic history of the region.
  • Pennsylvania: The Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh was made for families. Kid’s can learn by doing with plenty of opportunities to explore the hands-on exhibits in the museum.
  • Pennsylvania: The Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia is a great place to take your kids who are curious about their natural world. They will love being greeted by a full size dinosaur and opportunities to get hands-on with fossils.
  • Tennessee: See a replica of the first Piggly Wiggly, and watch an IMAX or Planetarium show. Animatronic dinosaurs and animal skeletons in all shapes and sizes will keep the kids busy for hours at Memphis Pink Palace Museum and Planetarium.
  • Utah: Even the Natural History Museum in Salt Lake City offers Free Admission during the year.
  • Washington State: At Seattle’s Burke Museum, your family can learn about the natural history of Washington State, tour a garden of plant life from all over the state, learn about Native culture, and enjoy special traveling exhibits. Don’t miss the giant mastodon and dinosaurs!
  • Washington D.C.: Mummies, mammoths, and exquisite gems greet millions of kids and families each year at the National Museum of Natural History
