I want to share with you one of my best travel secrets: When I head to a new city, I rely on a family-owned business out of Victor, Idaho. Their website gives me insight on which attractions to visit and how to do it for less. My secret? CityPASS. Ok, I’ll admit that 11 million other people know my secret. The question is, are you one of them?
CityPASS offers discounted tickets to premier attractions in 11 cities around the US and Canada, sold in a pre-paid bundle at significant savings. I love to purchase a CityPASS for the kids and myself when we are visiting a new city. It is the perfect way to ensure we are seeing the top-rated, can’t-miss attractions. Did you know it is also the best way to see the sites in your city? Maybe you’ve been putting off the wonders in your own backyard. Now is the time to staycation in your hometown – for less! Here are the three primary reasons my family chooses CityPASS:
When you purchase a CityPASS booklet, you save up to 50% off the full ticket price of the combined attractions. Planners may choose to purchase their CityPASS online and have it shipped to them, but you can also purchase a booklet at any participating venue on the same day you want to visit. The price is the same; the savings are just as great.
You will find Option Tickets in many booklets. For example, CityPASS ticketholders in Atlanta can select from either Zoo Atlanta or Atlanta History Center. The back of your CityPASS booklet offers discount coupons for the attraction you opt out of using with CityPASS. In our example, if you use your CityPASS to visit Zoo Atlanta, then you can take advantage of a $3 discount to Atlanta History Center by using the enclosed coupons.
CityPASS customers save time before their trip because planning is much easier. One CityPASS purchase covers tickets to five or six attractions. Don’t worry about searching for the best deal for each attraction; CityPASS delivers without the hassle. Visitors also save time planning which attractions to visit. The venues included in your CityPASS booklet are the premier attractions in that city.
Save time when you are on vacation, as well. Once you obtain your CityPASS booklet, most attractions allow you skip the ticket lines with your CityPASS ticket. This can be especially advantageous for those traveling during peak seasons such as spring break or summer vacation.
Save Your Sanity
Most CityPASS booklets include tickets for 5-6 attractions and purchasers in most cities have nine consecutive days to use the tickets.* This nine-day stretch begins the first day of use. There is no worry about having to schedule certain attractions on certain days, and no concern about matching an attraction with the weather. If you pre-purchase regular zoo tickets and the weather turns nasty, there are not many options for you. With CityPASS, you can rearrange your schedule, or take a day off, altogether.
Where to Use Your CityPASS
If you are ready to save up to 50% off tickets to the best attractions around the country, skip the lines during peak travel times, and enjoy a stress-free vacation in a new city (or your own), then CityPASS is the right choice for you. The only question remaining is where you will travel next.
