Last year, a group of travel bloggers worked together to raise $30,000 and build a school in rural Cambodia. The school opened this past October, giving a few hundred kids the opportunity to read, learn, and thrive. This year, we are aiming even higher. We want to build an entire village! Passports with Purpose, the brainchild of bloggers Pam Mandel, Debbie Dubrow, Michelle Duffy, and Beth Whitman, has chosen LAFTI, a non-profit dedicated to helping the Dalit people (also known as the Untouchables) of India to support this year. I could go on and on about how wonderful this cause truly is, but instead, I will encourage you to watch this video. The goal is to raise $50,000 and build an entire village for a group of people who have never had a roof over their heads.
The Steal: Win a 2 Night Stay at ANY Homewood Suites in North America
Yes, you read that right. The wonderful people at Homewood Suites by Hilton have graciously donated 2 nights at any property in North America to the winner of Trekaroo’s contribution to the Passports with Purpose fundraiser. I have stayed at many Homewood Suites on my travels across North American and have been impressed with every single one.
How to enter: Go to the Passports with Purpose donate page and donate. For every $10 you donate, you will be given a “raffle ticket” to apply to any prizes listed on the donate page. We think our prize is pretty great but feel free to apply your $10 to any of the AMAZING prizes being given away. After you have entered the raffle, be sure to spread the word via Facebook, Twitter, or Carrier Pigeon so Passports with Purpose can reach their goal of raising $50,000 and permanently changing the lives of people who literally have nothing.
What is Monday Madness?
Every Monday, Trekaroo announces on our blog, either a fantastic giveaway or an incredible deal. It could be a green water bottle, a hotel stay on Maui or theme park tickets.
