When people ask me for my favorite family friendly vacation destination on the West Coast, my answer is always the same- San Diego. With its Mediterranean climate, stunning beaches, and endless activities, its nearly impossible to have anything less than a great vacation in this Southern California beach town
Though much of the country has experienced record breaking heat and humidity this summer, San Diego has hardly seen a day above 90. Now, with fall fast approaching, many people across the nation will be turning in their tank tops and shorts for parkas and scarves. Not in sunny San Diego! Fall brings the California Coast some of its best weather and gives visitors the chance to keep those shorts from being packed away for just a little bit longer. The summer crowds may be long gone, but warm days spent lounging by the pool or splashing at the beach are far from fading.
This past spring, my family and I were lucky enough to be guests of the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina in San Diego. I immediately fell in love with the tropical but contemporary decor, bay front location, and amazing pool area. Not to mention the fine but still family friendly dining at the Hyatt’s own Red Marlin restaurant, the on site children’s programs, the watercraft rentals, and the spa. Oh the spa. Suddenly my recommendations for families to make San Diego their vacation destination were followed by the suggestion of making the Hyatt their home base during their stay. Another great thing about the Hyatt’s bay front location is that the resort is within walking distance of SeaWorld. This marine park has great animal exhibits, shows, and even water rides which are perfect for cooling off on a warm autumn day. Be sure to check out Blue Horizons, SeaWorld’s new show. It has a dolphin show meets Cirque du Soleil feel and is very entertaining.

I love watching my kids play in the pool and when a pool has waterslides, their excitement level just skyrockets. I think I’d even have to join them in their really fun play by sliding down the waterslides at the Hyatt Mission Bay! I was surprised to see on their website that they have kayaks, jet skis and more to enjoy… oh how I love kayaking!

My two oldest children are avid swimmers, and my 2 youngest just ditched the water wings, so the pool area would be a perfect way to spend the day. And since we just purchased jet skis (seadoos), being on the marina is where we want to be!

I visited the website for the first time. I am impressed with the Red Marlin restaurant, as they use top quality and organic ingredients. I would love to dine there and try their blue crab cakes and sushi grade tuna.
I would love to go to Sea World as my husband and I have never been there before. A massage would be heavenly if we stayed there i’d seriously look into it as I’ve never had a massage and have had 2 pedicures in my life. We both work very hard, rarely if ever – vacation and never had a real honeymoon. This would be an absolute dream come true for us.
We live in vegas, so san diego isnt too far away!!

I’ve returned to the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay three times now because, for a family with young children, there is no more relaxing setting. My children can swim all day in the pool — with lifeguards on duty — while I relax nearby with a good book and a delicious, healthy meal from Dive. We come back to the pool area later in the evening to make our own smores and take in a dive-in movie. The hotel’s fabulous location offers us lots to do — but really, there’s no reason to ever leave!

I would love to visit Hyatt Mission Bay Spa and Marina! You can’t beat San Diego’s weather and Hyatt built a fabulous, so-inviting-looking resort. What I love about it is that its family friendly. The Blue Marble Spa. I worked for years on Quivira Rd. but have never have visited the spa. I have eaten there several times and love being so close to the water. I used to envy the people who were staying there and not returning to work that day.

Wow, this all sounds amazing! I think we’d take advantage of the pool if I won this contest! My daughter is able to swim with floaties on, now, so she loves swimming! I would enjoy the tropical feel of the place and, of course, SEA WORLD would make this trip even more amazing for my 4-year-old!

Beginning the day with a detoxifiyig seaweed wrap. Looking forward to enjoying the kayaks, jet skis and
sailboat loved being on the water. Will greatly enjoyed the water Playground, and ending the day having dinner and drinks with friends watching the action at the Marina.
